Our Mission

Our Mission...To continue the encouragement of professional and recreational shooting by responsible individuals, with the intent of fostering a better knowledge of firearms manipulation, safety, marksmanship, defensive tactics and medical training. We shall develop the above by demonstrating the characteristics of honesty, responsibility, self-discipline, teamwork and self-reliance, which are the essentials of self-improvement, sportsmanship and patriotism.

About US

Southington Hunt Club Training Facility offers a variety of unique shooting and training resources. Our facility is currently utilized by local and national firearms instructors, law enforcement agencies, federal agencies, military units and civilian organizations. Our training facility boasts multi-purpose, live fire ranges, rural and urban combat training areas, ranges designed for mounted and dismounted operations and areas for waterborne or high-angle operations.

Ranges & Training Areas Include

• 6 multi-purpose small arms ranges (25-350 yards, rated up to .50 caliber machine gun).

• 350 yard live fire, vehicle maneuver area for mounted/dismounted operations.

• 700 yard range for movement to contact/react to contact.

• 700 yard known/unknown distance range.

• Urban combat training area with adjacent helicopter landing zones.

• Over 900 acre mounted and dismounted training area and off-road trails.

• 40 acre lake and cliffs for waterborne or high angle operations and marksmanship.

• 2,500 square foot covered classroom and 500 square foot indoor classroom with kitchen.

• Male & female bathroom & shower facilities, unit lodging, camping & RV campsites w/ electrical hookup.

• Within close proximity to regional airports and commercial lodging.

Fantastic place to shoot! I only wish they were open to the public more instead of just having events. This is video of their 100 yard range. I didn't participate in any of their other ranges so this is the only video I have to show what this range looks like. But they have several other ranges there, including a 700 yard range.

I was looking for a range that allowed me to shoot beyond 200 yards with my ruger precision and got notified about this range from someone that did slide work on my glock. I just went shooting to this place for the first time last weekend and couldn't of been more blown away and impressed. The 700 yard range was great for long-distance shooting and the 300 yard range was great for carbine/pistol shooting. What impressed me about the 300 yard is that there were so many steel targets already installed for me and others to cycle through at varying distances. Any other outdoor range requires you to bring your own targets which was usually just 1-2 from my end. Not to mention the valley type area and natural rock backstop is beautifully scenic. Out of all the northeast indoor/outdoors ranges and friends backyards, this is hands down the best place to shoot and its not remotely close.

This is the nicest, most fun & useful range I've ever visited. Friendly, helpful staff. On site steel targets or bring my own. 100/300 yard range is my favorite for now, but I look forward to checking out the 5 bays to the side of the 100/300 range with some pistols & AR9's. Take a look with Google Maps satellite view, this place is big .
